Homemade deodorant

I've been working for awhile to reduce chemicals in our house. I previously tried a deodorant alternative, rubbing alcohol. It worked well, through both winter and summer. I was super worried at first but after frequent sniff tests from myself and Nathan, I determined it really did work. I used it for probably 8 months and stopped only when I bought a new bottle that turned out to be a weaker ratio, and it wasn't as effective.

I got lazy and bought regular deodorant on sale and used it for awhile, but continued to worry about what I was rubbing into my body. I started looking up deodorant alternatives again and finally found one that had been endorsed by women and men. Since Nathan was about to use up his stick of deodorant, I asked if he'd be willing to use homemade deodorant if it worked. He agreed, so here's the next deodorant alternative adventure! I made it last night, so I'll keep you posted.

Baking soda and cornstarch mixed, coconut oil ready to add.

I scooped it into an old deodorant container for convenience. This is after it solidified. Looks pretty normal to me.
Here's the recipe. Here's an endorsement by a crunchy/from scratch blog I really like.

I read the endorsement about the deodorant. Very interesting. I was almost tempted to try it, but I don't think I could get used to having to refrigerate my deodorant. I'm still curious to see how it works for you guys, though.
