Blessings

I'm feeling really blessed lately. So many around me are struggling - marital problems, unmarried and unplanned pregnancy, death of a child, car problems. Right now we are just drowning in blessings.

No, life isn't perfect. I'm not a stay-at-home mom. My marriage isn't perfect. I haven't had time to garden and my yard is filled with weeds. The cat wakes me up yowling in the middle of the night.

But we are financially secure. More so than ever before. We have a wonderful home. We have friends and family, even if they aren't all close by. My husband compliments my cooking. We have plenty of food and I know how to prepare it. We know God loves us and will continue to bless us.

I hope that you, too, will recognize your blessings and dig a little harder for them if you don't immediately see them. Be a Pollyanna. Play the "glad" game.

Thanks for that great reminder. We are very blessed too. Like you said, life isn't without it's problems and struggles, but all our needs are provided for and some wants too. And we have our family and our health and friends and a great ward and . . . it keeps going. I know the newspaper is full of concern for the future and economy and people are worried and struggling, but when you are prepared there is no need to fear. Thanks again for the reminder to count our blessings.

I LOVE the glad game!! I play it when I'm down in the dumps. It really helps me put things in perspective. When I really think about the rest of the world- especially the third world countries, I feel especially blessed to live here and have my precious pantry and refridgerater full of so many varieties of food! I'm so grateful that I'm not working in a hot field all day and sleeping on a dirt floor!
