Hoping to survive April

It seems like every year when it approaches gardening time, life gets crazy in one way or another, preventing me from preparing the garden.  This month is very busy at work.  I'm a little scared of it, honestly.  But today went better than expected, which started things off nicely.  Yesterday I worked 12 hours; today only 11.

We wrapped up Nathan's birthday week by using birthday freebie coupons.  He was actually awake Saturday morning and we went on a little breakfast date to IHOP, where Nathan had a burger with a fried egg on it.  Since he doesn't really like breakfast food, that was a good compromise.  On Saturday night, I went to a community theater play to support a friend, and Nathan and I went to a very late dinner to use up his Red Robin coupon.

My sister continues to provide me with adorable pictures for my desktop background, which gives my trainees something to ooh and ahh over and distracts them from more questions about my lack of children.

Speaking of which, my due date was on Easter.  I think I'm doing okay.  I guess I might not be on that day, but fortunately we'll be busy with family and friends for dinner to distract me.  I find it interesting that on this day of potential grief, we'll also be expressing gratitude for the Savior and the fact that He will take our sorrows if we let Him.

Life is good overall, just busy.  I'm still feeling really good emotionally and that's nice.  Nathan's a month away from finishing his semester.  The dryer stopped producing heat but magically started working again.  I'm cool with that.  I ache a lot lately by the end of the day.  I'm not sure if I'm far overdue for a chiropractor visit or my body doesn't like something I'm eating.  I also think my gout is beginning to flare up, which it hasn't done in a couple years.  Time to chug more water, I guess!

We're using up b-day coupons this month too. Zach still has one to IHop and Baskin Robbins.

Thanks for your uplifting attitude even in the midst of hard things. It helps me a LOT.

I'm so sorry Emily had to cancel out on the play. She was sad she couldn't go. She got hand, foot, and mouth virus from the boys.

I hope your Easter turned out well. I can sympathize with you on the due date thing. I still remember my due date from when I lost my first baby. I think that is probably one of the hardest things I ever went through. But I did not have to wait as long as you guys have, and I totally admire you for having such a good attitude.
