I handled Mother's Day this year by mostly avoiding Facebook and only going to church for the sacrament, then bolting out the door. I holed up at home, talked to my mom briefly, and made the aforementioned eggnog.
In the late afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to have someone stop by with a bouquet from her garden. She's aware of my infertility struggles and struggled herself, so she understood. It was so sweet of her to think of me. It really helped.
Love and Hugs!! Just so you know, I aspire to be the mom I know you will be. I always hope you'll comment on my homeschooling questions on my blog! You are a treasure!
