Yummy punch

We did dinner and game night with another family on Saturday. I was assigned drinks and dessert, so I thought I'd better do something a little more fun than a bottle of soda. The punch turned out yummy and I finally used a large crock handed down from my grandparents, since it wouldn't fit in any of my pitchers. This is a double batch.

1 can lemonade concentrate
1 can OJ concentrate
2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp almond extract
13 C water
2 quarts lemon lime soda (just shy of a 2-liter)

Mix together everything but the soda and chill. Add soda just before serving.

Dessert was supposed to be a lovely parfait, but the pudding was too runny. It still tasted good.

Angel food cake (made from a mix that had been lurking in my pantry)
Banana pudding (food storage mix made with powdered milk)
Sliced strawberries
Repeat the layers, and then add homemade whipped cream. Mmm. I've never whipped my own cream before. It was fun.

It sounds fancy for my current budget but since I had almost everything, it didn't cost too much for a "company" dinner. I was in too much of a rush to take pictures.

Sounds delicious. I can't wait to try the punch. I love almond extract, and it sounds like something you enjoy too. I"m still planning on trying the cupcake frosting with almond extract.
