Tea tree oil

I seem to be having a touch of dandruff recently, so I put tea tree oil on my scalp when I washed my hair Saturday. I tend to be overly generous when using essential oils, so I smelled really strongly of tea tree oil after. It was a breezy day, and as we were out running errands, I was hit with the smell whenever the wind blew my hair.

I was lying on the couch that evening and suddenly Picasso jumped up behind me and started licking my hair. It was so cute and gross at the same time, so I swatted him away. He did it again a few times over the weekend and try as I might, I couldn't get a picture. He acted like he does around catnip.

Anyway, I googled 'tea tree oil cats' today to see if anyone else had seen this catnip-like excitement, and found out it's highly toxic to cats! Yikes! My hair still smells slightly of it, despite being washed again, so I'd better keep Picasso away.

Umm WOW, that is highly interesting. You find something out new everyday. It seems like there is always something that the cats or dogs are allergic to.
