Busy life

It seems like I'm constantly preparing for one thing or another recently. I had Sharing Time in Primary on Sunday, then a Primary teacher training/social last night, and a baby shower tomorrow.

I was pretty disappointed with our teacher training last night. We had planned an ice cream social in Lisa's (the other counselor) home. We had all the makings for banana splits, including homemade hot fudge sauce (thanks, Lisa!). We had a spiritual thought and a game of Jeopardy with questions to remind of resources and guidelines. We invited a single mom to bring her kids and scheduled it late enough that certain teachers would be off work in time. We reminded them for 3 weeks in a row and handed out cute invitations. Unfortunately, we had two teachers show up, three if you count Lisa's husband. It's very frustrating to go to that much effort and have such poor turnout. That being said, we had a fabulous time and it was a very productive discussion with the teachers who attended.

Last night, this morning, and tonight are occupied with prepping for the baby shower luncheon at work. It's a little difficult when I don't have the car - I just can't bring everything on the bus. I've been bringing in bits and pieces and have enlisted Nathan to pick me up from work tonight and bring most everything with him. I'll have to figure out how to get it home, too!

We're having taco soup and cornbread and I'm in charge of the food. I'm multiplying the recipe 6 times. If we have leftovers, that's okay, I like taco soup! I've used the Bosch to grate several pounds of cheese, cooked three batches of pinto and kidney beans in the pressure cooker, and I'll cook multiple pounds of beef and chopped onions tonight, along with baking two big pans of cornbread.

I also made pizza this morning. I've never made pizza crust before, unless you count the class at church where I supposedly learned how. It turned out fairly decent! I made two pizzas and put another ball of dough in the freezer. Can I just say, I love my Bosch. It mixed up yummy herb pizza crust and grated lots of cheese in no time. (If you're wondering why I made pizza in the MORNING, I was making it for my lunch and Nathan's dinner since it's my late night.)

That's all the craziness, hopefully, for the next couple weeks.

I have the wire whips, dough hook, 4 slicing/shredding disks, juicer (not the citrus one), and the blender. My mom also long-term-loaned me the meat grinder and pasta maker. The meat grinder makes yummy refried beans - you just cook pinto beans with whole cumin, grind it all up, add a little butter and bake for about 15 minutes.

I have the whisk and dough hooks, and the citrus juicer (which was much more used in Calif.!!). And that is it, next time we are out I will have to check out all your gadgets!! :)

Wow, sounds like life never stops for you. I couldn't add more to life than what I am already doing or I would completely go crazy. Well, I am already crazy, but, you know what I mean. LOL!

The ice cream social was kinda of a disappointment, but the banana splits were yummy!
