Primary program 2008

It's done! Woo-hoo!

For those of you who don't know, I'm in charge of planning/coordinating/etc. the annual program that our ward Primary children do in Sacrament Meeting. It can be a lot of fun and a lot of work.

We had a couple special moments this year.

The child who always yells in the microphone didn't yell! I found out later that the Primary president bribed him...hey whatever works.

The kids did an amazing job singing Called to Serve, as well as the other songs. We got a new music leader this year and she did a great job building enthusiasm, as well as teaching the songs.

I wasn't as stressed this year. I think it's because this was my third year doing it. However, with everything else I had going (the last week has been crazy), I overdid and didn't eat right. About an hour later, I had a lovely blood sugar crash. I haven't had one this severe in a long time. I felt it coming on, put my stuff in my bag and told Nathan we needed to go home. By the time we were in the car, maybe two minutes later, I was shaking, crying, scared, and having vision problems.

After two burritos, a few bites of cookie, a nap, and a supportive husband, I was okay.

(For those who don't know, I've always had blood sugar problems. The severity/frequency can be affected by taking birth control pills, stress, how well I'm eating, etc. I tested negative for hypoglycemia about 6 years ago, but yet I have the symptoms. My childhood doctor said I had a small pancreas.)

I really enjoyed the program. It went very well - the children sang the best they have sung for a VERY long time. We could hear them! Also, I was amazed at how well Elijah did - we could understand him and his teachers were so patient and did well keeping him up there! I really loved the talks too - all in all - the best one you've done I think.
