Projects and our thrift store finds!

In case you haven't noticed, I've been on a baking/organizing project kick. It went into high gear when Nathan went out of town for 9 days. I'm still having fun whipping the house into shape, just not quite as aggressively.

The latest projects include decluttering the sewing room (oh my, what a nightmare, not done yet), reorganizing my dresser drawers (who knew I had 20 pair of warm tights!), making breakfast sandwiches for the freezer, and today, organizing the linen closet.

This is the after picture. I moved all the beach towels to the top shelf, since we don't exactly use them currently. I found a number of things I didn't realize I had. Here's the really funny thing. I've been rotating between two "kitchen" towels, thinking that was all I had, and they are getting kinda worn. Turns out, I have a whole bunch of kitchen towels. I completely forgot that I chose my kitchen colors when I got married and got a set of matching towels, dishcloths, and potholders. I also have two other color schemes of kitchen towels that I was given sometime in the last 5 years.

I put all the kitchen towels in this little basket so I can easily find the one I want.

Nathan and I went to the thrift store after he got off work. We had a few laughs (a book on endangered species was mixed in with cookbooks) and found some great stuff, including future Christmas presents. Here's all the loot. Please note we did not buy the cat at the thrift store, but he refused to stay out of the picture.

One of our finds was a kitty play/scratching thing for $5.00 in like-new condition. I took a ton of pictures of the cats as they explored it. This one is my favorite, with Echo upside down and turning his head sideways.

Now the cat pic is hillarious. I love the Strawberry Shotcake pic. I used to have so much with Strawberry shortcake as a kid. Gotta love it when you find those things at the thrift store.

Hey Cherish,
If you are still on that 'kick' you can attack my house next LOL. Joking aside it looks like you have accomplished alot. I love Christmas shopping in July! I haven't been able to do that for a few years....I have no where to hide things, the kids get into EVERYTHING!!!
